Hello! I go by a few different aliases, but I'm formally known as Natalie Verano. I’m the host of DEADLINES, as well as a page artist. I run many things behind the scenes.I graduated with a BFA in Illustration, and I'm currently an MBA grad school student to pair art with professional business practices. I am drawn to complex media that is queer, dark/adult, and macabre, so naturally I love video game characters like Moira O'Deorain!While I have some experience in zine-making, this is my first time hosting a zine, so I am INCREDIBLY grateful to be working with such a talented, trusting community!In my free time, I like to work on my upcoming novel series, The World of Lorra. I'm Sam or Sig!! :3 Artist, Animator, Illustrator, and more, but most importantly to this zine, I'm an illustrator AND a mod for this zine, and though it is my first experience, I am honored all the same to be surrounded by all these dope artists!Besides my personal work on two of my stories, AGARTHA and SCOPOPHOBIA, I am also a big overwatch nerd!! I have been playing since it released, and to this day, still play a bunch! While not my main, Moira has consistently been one of my favorite of the cast, and I'm excited for you all to see what we have in store!!

What is a Zine?
Zines are fan-made collections of artwork and writings focused on a particular theme. For DEADLINES, the focus centers around Moira and the theme "horrors of ambition" from the game Overwatch.
Will the zine be physical or digital?
We're aiming for both! The physical zine will be 6x9 inches, staple bound, and the digital zine will be purchasable through bigcartel.
Are you still accepting contributor and mod applications?
As of 4/7/26 - We had some of the original contributors drop out of the zine, so we had publicly opened contributor apps to fill in the gaps. We are no longer accepting new contributors.

Will there be merch?
We're aiming for both physical and digital merch! Digital merch (emotes, digital stickers, icons, desktop + mobile wallpapers, etc.) will be available. Physical merch, as determined by our interest check budget, is tentative and is considered a budget "stretch goal".If we hit our stretch goal, we will update our socials, so stay tuned to see what goals we hit!Note: The physical zine takes priority over merch, but planned merch would be stickers, keychains, buttons, bookmarks, prints, etc.
What is the compensation model for the zine?
Deadlines is for charity. Our goal is to raise a healthy amount of donations for Doctors Without Borders while also compensating our contributors with a full bundle of the zine, including shipping at no extra cost, if possible. At the bare minimum, all contributors will be guaranteed a free digital copy of the zine.In terms of financials, we will put the funds into physical production costs. If, for whatever reason, we do not raise enough for book production, all proceeds will go towards charity.
Is this zine SFW? Why is it being advertised as 18+?
In general, it's relatively SFW, but this depends on your sensitivity levels.It's SFW in the sense that there is no porn or anything explicitly/overtly sexual, but 18+ in the sense that there is artistic nudity and heavy themes will be explored.Mature audiences required.
How many contributors are there?
As of now, there are a total of 28 contributors!
Contributor: What happens if I miss a deadline?
We believe the schedule is relatively lenient for our contributors; we're happy to work with said contributors and understand that life happens. That being said, please request any extensions sooner rather than later, not the day of.Several reminders will be posted in the server throughout the incubation period. Failure to communicate, respect deadlines, or respond to pings after a prolonged period of time will result in termination from the project.Please note that we are extremely firm on the final draft's submission date in order to format the zine and prepare preorders in a timely manner.
Contributor: Can I share works in progress?
No, no one is allowed to share work outside the server.The only exception is if a concept was disregarded before the preliminary deadline.
Contributor: Will I be able to post/sell my finished piece(s)?
Yes, all contributors will be allowed to post and sell their contributions once the project is complete.
Where are you shipping from and which countries are you shipping to?
We will be shipping from the US and using Pirate Ship.For international information, please check: https://www.pirateship.com/usps/first-class-package-international.We will do our absolute best for international fans.
Will orders be tracked?
Yes, all orders can be tracked. No refunds as this is for charity.Refunds on zines and, or bundles will only be available if the package somehow becomes lost or damaged upon transit (with proof). Will shipping costs include tax and customs fees?
No, shipping costs will not include any customs fees or taxes for shipment into the recipient’s country. This will be the responsibility of the buyer.
